Clinical Psychology With Thesis (English)
Courses
This course consists of revision of the basic research and statistical concepts, performing analyses such as Correlation, Simple and Linear Regression, Comparing means by using SPSS program, interpretation and reporting of the results obtained from these analyses.
Students will be taught in major psychotherapy approaches. Similarities and differences of these approaches will be compared and critically discussed.
The aim of this course is to explain abnormal behavior from different perspectives and from a scientific and clinical way.
Supervisors and students together will evaluate previous research on the basis of rules of academic writing and discuss how to apply skills related to critical reading, understanding, synthesizing and contrasting and comparing. Students will work together with an assigned instructor on a selected area in their discipline. Students are also required to write a paper/report in this seminar.
This course provides the opportunity to discuss psychotherapy processes with supervisor and other students and to gain the competence of applying a treatment process from beginning to end.
This course is designed to independently conduct a research and acquire the necessary competencies. Accordingly, a proper research question is identified under the guidance of an advisor, an extensive literature review is made, and a unique hypothesis and research design are determined by taking into consideration the methodologies and gaps in the literature. Within the framework of the research design, the relevant data is collected and a thesis including the theoretical basis, method, results and discussion of the research is written.

CPSY 514 Clinical Initial Interview
The aim is to gain competences in active listening and observation, establishing relationship, diagnostic-specific questioning, collecting personal data, forming the interview within the scope of the diagnosis, and writing rapport.
CPSY 515 Ethics in Clinical Psychology
This course examines how to work and apply clinical psychology ethically as a science and profession and provides an understanding of how science and professional ethics are handled in the field of clinical psychology.
CPSY 516 Clinical Pharmacology
The course investigates psychopharmacological drugs used in treatments and their medical, behavioral, and cognitive effects.
CPSY 517 Theories of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy I
The aim of this course is to provide students theoretical and practical knowledge in cognitive behavioral therapy.
CPSY 518 Theories of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy II
This course explains and examines the etiology of psychological disorders and therapy approaches from a cognitive behavioral perspective.
CPSY 519 Child and Adolescence Psychopathology
This course provides detailed knowledge about symptomatology, etiology, differential diagnostic, epidemiology and treatment approaches of psychological disorders in childhood and adolescence.
CPSY 520 Social Cognition
Social cognition is about how people perceive, store, retrieve and use social information. Social cognition also focuses on the role that cognitive processes play in our social interactions.
CPSY 521 Neuropsychology
This course examines how brain’s working process and functioning are related to human behavior.
CPSY 522 Family and Couple Therapy
This course focuses on understanding the factors that deeply influence psychological health of family members and explain the pathological relationship patterns in family by the help of related theories.
CPSY 523 Scale Development and Adaptation
This course is designed to teach students the nature of psychological tests, the aims and functions of these tests. The course also aims to provide information on the history of psychometrics, ethics in psychometrics and some statistical constructs, norms. The course is also designed to teach the types of reliability in classical test theories. Different types of reliability and validity will be covered with the help of recent research.
CPSY 524 Psychological Trauma and Intervention
This course provides an overview of the impact of crises, disasters, and other trauma-causing events on children, adults, and communities. The course will also introduce strategies and interventions for working with individuals who are affected by trauma.
