Course Objectives It is aimed with this course to evaluate Occupational Health and Safety Institutions and Rules necessary to protect the right to live of labour in workplace by preventing occupational accident and diseases within in the context of employer responsibility.
Course Description The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Students will be able to:
  • Explain the meaning and importance of occupational health and safety as a legal concept related with right to live of labour,
  • Discuss about legal responsibilities of employer, employee and the State about occupational health and safety,
  • Report on the international rules, especially issued by ILO(International Labour Organization), WHO(World health Organization) and European Union about occupational health and safety
  • Explain historical improvement of legal rules about occupational health and safety in Turkey,
  • Give general information about Occupational Health and Safety Law Numbered 6331,
  • Explain legal responsibility of employer regulated by Occupational Health and Safety Law Numbered 6331 and corresponding by-laws,
  • Discuss about legal responsibility of employer regulated by Occupational Health and Safety Law Numbered 6331 and corresponding by-laws and put forward proposals to improve in a positive way.
Course Content Concept of Occupational Health and Safety within the context of Right of Health, Occupational Health and Safety in Turkish law and Comparative law, Convention and recommendations of ILO(International Labour Organization), WHO(World health Organization) and European Union about occupational health and safety, the obligation of employer to protect employee and legal responsibilities, related public bodies, inspection organization, unions and professional chambers, and duties and responsibilities of them, Occupational Health and Safety organization in workplace and sanctions.
