    Course Objectives The objective of this course is to review the EU Insurance Legislation and its enforcement, and to identify its reflections on Turkish Law; review the developments in EU and in some of the European countries, and to compare these with Turkish legislation.
    Learning Outcomes

    The students who succeeded in this course;

    • Students who successfully complete this course will be able to;
    • Explain the role of insurance sector in economy, and the interaction between private insurance organizations and institutions.
    • List the insurance brokers and their roles.
    • Explain Turkish private insurance system.
    • Compare Turkish private insurance system with EU insurance system.
    • Comprehend the establishment and functioning requirements of insurance companies, reinsurance companies, actuaries, insurance experts.
    • Explain the principles of arbitration in insurance disputes.
    Course Description Reviewing the insurance organizations and institutions in developed countries in EU and in Europe, and in Turkey, and their interaction with each other constitute the main content of this course. Basic subject titles can be listed as: EU Insurance Legislation and its Structural Features, Legal Dimension and Structural Analysis of Turkish Insurance System, Insurance Organizations and Institutions, E-Insurance and E-Reinsurance Procedures, Insurance in terms of the Code of Competition, Reinsurance Sectors, and Arbitration in Insurance.
