    Course Objectives This course introduces the fundamental principles and algorithms of digital image processing systems. The course will cover many subjects including digital signal processing theories used for digital image processing, including onedimensional and twodimensional convolution, Fourier transform, and discrete cosine transform. Image processing basics. Image enhancement. Image restoration. Image coding and compression. Video processing including video coding and compression. Additional topics including digital highdefinition television systems. Applications of image and video processing in engineering and computer science.
    Learning Outcomes

    The students who succeeded in this course;

    • Understand the fundamental concepts of a digital image processing system
    • Know how to analyze images (2D signals) in the frequency domain through the Fourier transform
    • Have a basic understanding of human visual perception
    • Be able to design and implement algorithms for digital image processing with
    Course Description The following topics will be included: Digital images as twodimensional signals; twodimensional convolution, Fourier transform, and discrete cosine transform; Image processing basics; Image enhancement; Image restoration; Wavelets and Multiresolution processing; Image coding and compression; Video processing including video coding and compression.
