About the Program

The Clinical Psychology Master's Program of Izmir University of Economics aims to train qualified graduates who have up-to-date scientific knowledge and skills in conducting research in the field of clinical psychology. With these skills and knowledge, the graduates will be able to contribute to mental health of other people in need. In line with these objectives, the first year of the program includes courses providing advanced scientific research methods in addition to theoretical and practical courses that will help students to gain a deeper understanding of the field of clinical psychology. During the second year of the program, our students will get the opportunity to work face-to-face with clinical populations under the supervision of program’s academicians at the Psychology Research and Application Center of Izmir University of Economics..

The teaching language of the program is English and the scope of the program will be mainly based on psychoanalytic and cognitive-behavioral approaches. Students who successfully complete the program will gain the “Master in Clinical Psychology” degree and will be entitled as a “Clinical Psychologist” given by Izmir University of Economics Graduate School.

Curriculum

Beside the required courses Advanced Psychopathology, Computer-Aided Quantitative Methods in Psychology and Theories of Psychotherapy, the Clinical Psychology Master’s program offers also elective courses such as Clinical Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Family and Couple therapy.
