TECHNICAL TRIP TO ANTALYA FREE ZONE
Students of Izmir University of Economics-Graduate School of Social Sciences, Yacht Design Graduate Program organized a technical trip to Antalya Free Zone and Setur Marina on March 22-23 along with the students of Department of Interior Architecture and Design.
The first stop of the trip was Sunrise. Students got information about steel yacht construction from the officials and visited engineering and design offices, and then visited Ares dockyard. There they had a chance to discuss the materials used and the details about a catamaran in its final stage. They also observed installation and insulation system of a 40 meter long aluminium boat being built by Ares. Following the lunch, students visited the interior spaces of a composite motor yacht being built at Alia dockyard. The final stop was Sarp dockyard.
Next day, at Setur Marina, the students received information from Ship Construction Engineer İlker Civelek about boat design, production, refitting, and also about the maintenance of marina from the officials.
