International conference in honor of the 60th birthday of IUE Professor

An international conference has been held in honor of the 60th birthday of Prof. İsmihan Bayramoğlu, Founding Dean of Faculty of Arts and Science of Izmir University of Economics, who is among the most respected scholars worldwide for his groundbreaking studies in the field of math. Approximately 50 scholars from 10 countries attended the conference in Istanbul.

Prof. Bayramoğlu, who expressed that he experienced the most special moments of his life, said, “The fact that scholars from all around the world coming together at a conference held in my honor, is indescribable. I felt very honored and happy.”

In addition to scholars from USA, Poland, England, Canada, Australia, Bulgaria, China, Iran, and Azerbaijan, 17 Ph.D. students from Turkey attended the conference held on 24-25 June. Probability and statistics were addressed, and each of the scholars shared their opinions at the conference. Attendees were also informed about the studies of Prof. Bayramoğlu up until now in details. Plaque of appreciation was awarded to Prof. Bayramoğlu for his contributions to science on his 60th birthday on June 25.

“I dedicated my life to science”

The Founding Dean of Faculty of Arts and Science, Prof. İsmihan Bayramoğlu, stated that he dedicated almost his entire life to science and shared all the information he gained with his students. “As a person, who has been involved in scientific studies for a long time, I never once felt the need to put myself forward. I always worked hard to reach more information and put exemplary studies into practice. I shared what I learnt with my students because I believe that knowledge improves as it is shared. I acted upon this belief, and I will continue to do so. I felt great honor for internationally recognized scholars coming together at a conference held in my honor. I felt very excited. I would like to thank Izmir University of Economics for supporting me and providing all the opportunities until now, “said Prof. Bayramoğlu.
