Graduate Programs in Sustainable Energy

About the Programs
Izmir University of Economics’ Sustainable Energy Master's Program is the first and only Sustainable Energy Master's Program in Turkey. The program received its first students in 2012. The Sustainable Energy Master's Program is an interdisciplinary program that is professionally oriented and designed to give participants a comprehensive understanding of key energy issues and to improve their analytical and managerial skills. With the adoption of an interdisciplinary approach, the program lays the groundwork for emphasizing the importance of sustainable energy with a social sciences perspective, beyond the technical dimension of the sustainable energy theme. Theoretical lectures are supported by lectures given by experts in their fields as well as examples of real life applications. Within the scope of the program, cooperation and collaboration is made with stakeholders in both public and private sectors. Participants of the program concentrate their multi-disciplinary work on priority research areas such as energy and environmental policy analysis, energy security, sustainability, energy management, and energy economics.
