"Localizing Design Studies: Perspectives on Turkey" (Deniz Hasirci, Tuba Doğu, Deniz Avci, Gozde Damla Turhan-Haskara, Aybüke Taşer (eds.)) has just been published!

Prof. Dr. Gözde Damla Turhan Haskara (Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Design Studies Graduate Program co-Coordinator), Filiz Özbengi Uslu (Textile and Fashion Design Research Assistant & Design Studies PhD student), Selen Çiçek (ITU, Architectural Design Computing PhD student), and Anıl Dinç Demirbilek (Industrial Design Research Assistant & Design Studies PhD student) have been honored with the “Research Innovation Award” at the XXVIII International Conference of the Ibero-American Society of Digital Graphics (SiGRADi2024), held in Barcelona from November 13-15, 2024.

The Design Studies Graduate Program and the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at the Izmir University of Economics is organizing the third annual “Design Studies Symposium (DSS)”, formerly known as Face-to-Fest. The theme of the symposium this year is, “Design Dialogue.”

The Design Studies Symposium 2023 (DSS 2023), organized in collaboration with İzmir University of Economics Graduate School Design Studies Master's and PhD Programs and the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, took place on June 1-2 this year with the theme "Realities and Boundaries". As an outcome of the symposium, the accepted abstract submissions have been published online in the form of an abstract proceedings e-book. 185 students who successfully completed their master's and doctorate degrees at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) received their diplomas with a graduation ceremony full of enthusiasm and excitement. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) received a double award at the ‘Innovative Idea Development Workshop in the Electricity Distribution Sector’ organized with the cooperation of Izmir Development Agency (IZKA), GDZ Elektrik and Genç İşi Kooperatif.
