Course Objectives The purpose of this course is to provide the student with the knowledge current and evidence-based knowledge about the roles and responsibilities of the operating room nurses, patient and staff safety in the operating room, and intraoperative patient care.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • At the end of this course students;
  • 1. will be able to describe duties, responsibilities and authority of the operating room nurse
  • 2. will be able to explain the patient and staff safety in the operating room
  • 3. will be able to explain bleeding control in the operating room
  • 4. will be able to describe heat control in the operating room
  • 5. will be able to explain special surgical applications in the operating room
  • 6. will be able to able to provide evidence-based care to patients
  • 7. will be able to evaluate the effect of medical treatment and nursing care in the operating room
Course Description This course covers the fundamental principles of operating room structure, architecture and management, patient positions in the operating room, task authority and responsibilities of the operating room nurse, patient and staff safety in the operating room.
